响尾蛇

　　自從開始上天主教慕道課以來，恪守教義的少女瑪麗亞便遠離了流行文化，抵抗撒旦化身的種種誘惑。長大之後，嚴厲的母親仍以絕對威權的方式，約束她的生活起居與交友狀況。虔誠的瑪麗亞不但努力達到要求，為了讓罹患自閉症的弟弟能開口說話，她暗自做了一個危險的決定。
　　《少女的歧禱》以工整完美的形式，呼應片中角色的極端行徑。全片十四則標題，借典自耶穌赴難的章回短篇；十四段長鏡頭，築架出儀式般的嚴謹結構，再再讓人聯想起一九五○年羅塞里尼執導的《聖法蘭西斯之花》。不同的是，本片看似冷靜側寫瑪麗亞追求信仰而犧牲奉獻的心路歷程，實則以強烈批判性的諷喻口吻，探討極端的信仰狂熱如何成為威權高壓統治的變種，魄力驚人。

　　American psychologist John Holden arrives in London to participate in a symposium aiming to expose witchcraft and devil-worship as a fraud, with attention centered on a cult run by a Julian Karswell. Debarking his plane, Holden learns that the symposium leader, Henry Harrington, has suddenly died and he is now in charge. What only the audience knows is that Harrington was clearly killed by a demon, apparently summoned by Karswell to avenge his persecution. Despite both threatening and cajoling behavior by Karswell, Holden determines to proceed, though the only cult member willing to talk about his experiences is in a prison psychiatric ward, catatonic after allegedly killing yet another cult member. However, Harrington&♯39;s niece, Joanna, believes, based on her uncle&♯39;s notes, that Karswell may indeed have some satanic powers derived from an ancient tome in an obscure language which he has been able to translate, and attempts to warn the skeptic Holden. Karswell&♯39;s mother also attempts to warn Holden off. However, the thing which begins to most get to Holden are the occasional, but mounting, sensory and mental disturbances he begins experiencing after an encounter with Karswell, and the discovery that, during this encounter, Karswell secretly slipped a slip of parchment with a curse in runic symbols on it into Holden&♯39;s belongings, a parchment identical to one Harrington recorded having had passed to him in a similar manner shortly before his death... 　　【尋寶智多星】的劇情故事改編自 Robert Lewis Taylor 的小說《A Journey to Matecumbe》，故事背景是發生在經歷南北戰爭之後的美國肯塔西州，少年 Davie Burnie 意外得知了他家族代代相傳的一大秘密，那就是一張通往神秘 Matecumbe 寶藏的藏寶圖，在佛羅里達蠻荒之處，深埋著這個失落許久的寶藏，於是少年 Davie 就踏上了他的尋寶之途。他與四位同伴結伴同行，他們分別是 Jim 、Lauriette Paxton 、Thad 以及 Ewing T. Snodgrass 博士。然而 Davie 父親生前的死對頭 Spangler 也虎視眈眈，也伺機想奪得 Matecumbe 寶藏，而且還有颶風、印地安人、沼澤種種威脅等待著他們，他們必須一一化險為夷，才能找到神秘的寶藏。
　　本片是由 Vincent McEveety 執導，片中飾演少年 Davie 的是 Johnny Doran ；飾演 Jim 的則是 Robert Foxworth ；飾演 Lauriette Paxton 的則是 Joan Hackett ；飾演 Ewing T. Snodgrass 博士的則是還曾經演過迪士尼電影【黑鬍子】等片的 Peter Ustinov ；至於和 Davie 生死與共的少年 Thad 則由 Billy Attmore 擔任；大反派 Spangler 則是由 Vic Morrow 擔任，片中其他演員還包括 Jane Wyatt 、Dick Van Patten 、Virginia Vincent …等等。至於本片配樂則由 Buddy Baker 負責，歌曲“Matecumbe”則是由 Shane Tatum 所作。

　　When William Gridley arrives from the US in London, he rents part of Carly Hardwicke&♯39;s house from her and promptly begins to fall in love. Gridley doesn&♯39;t know that many people think she killed her husband but his boss, the American ambassador, knows and doesn&♯39;t take this "lapse of judgement" lightly. Since Carly is also American, Gridley saves his job by introducing her to the ambassador, who is promptly smitten and promises to help her. So when a Scotland Yard detective arrives, wanting to get to the truth one way or another, they say they&♯39;ll help him. And then the comedic complications really begin.

　　本作は“絶対にだませない詐欺師”を主人公とするコメディ。超が付くお人よしのサラリーマン・絹咲正（きぬさきただし）は、婚活パーティで出会った浅香澪に頼まれて彼女の父親に会いに行く。しかし、そこにいたのは裏社会にもつながりのある大手ゼネコン社長・貴島だった。貴島から5億円をだまし取ろうとしたものの失敗した澪は、貴島の支配下にあったのだ。リゾート会社社長から10億円を奪ってきたら許すと貴島から告げられた正と澪。嘘がつけず悪いことができない正にとって引き受けられない仕事だったが、彼のあまりの人のよさから、詐欺計画は思わぬ方向に転がっていく。

　　时过境迁，痛失爱子鹤松的秀吉变得残暴无度，不但肃清政治异己，连私底下吐露怨言的无辜百姓也要残酷清算。终于，平民百姓，甚至是好友利休，都被逼上了绝路。为了守护他们，还大家一个和平的天下，专好向万人之上的秀吉发起了一个前所未有的挑战。而他拿来当武器的，不是刀刃，而是花……

　　In 1661 Mexico, the Baron Vitelius of Astara is sentenced to be burned alive by the Holy Inquisition of Mexico for witchcraft, necromancy, and other crimes. As he dies, the Baron swears vengeance against the descendants of the Inquisitors. 300 years later, a comet that was passing overhead on the night of the Baron’s execution returns to earth, bringing with it the Baron in the form of a horrible, brain-eating monster that terrorizes the Inquisitor’s descendants.

　　深受国际影坛瞩目的葡萄牙导演米格尔戈麦斯，继享誉国际的《金色八月天》、《禁恋》后，以长达383分钟的新作《一千零一夜》三部曲，呈现当代葡萄牙的众生相。首部曲《一千零一夜I：不安之人》以天方夜谭中诉说故事的皇后雪哈拉莎德展开，藉由三段故事描绘富人、穷人、强者、鲁蛇、小偷和诚实的人，如何在金融风暴下存活下来。米格尔戈麦斯结合现实主义色彩与冷调幽默的讽刺笔触，犀利批判政府的财政计画，令人大呼精彩。

　　Two differences between this Austrian version and the generally available American version are immediately obvious: they differ both in their length and in the language of the intertitles. The American version is only 1,883 metres long - at 18 frames per second a difference of some 7 minutes to the Austrian version with 2,045 metres. Whereas we originally presumed only a negligible difference, resulting from the varying length of the intertitles, a direct comparison has nevertheless shown that the Austrian version differs from the American version both in the montage and in the duration of individual scenes. Yet how could it happen that the later regional distribution of a canonical US silent film was longer than the "original version"?
　　The prevalent American version of Blind Husbands does not correspond to the version shown at the premiere of 1919. This little-known fact was already published by Richard Koszarski in 1983. The film was re-released by Universal Pictures in 1924, in a version that was 1,365 feet (416 metres) shorter. At 18 frames per second, this amounts to a time difference of 20 minutes! "Titles were altered, snippets of action removed and at least one major scene taken out entirely, where von Steuben and Margaret visit a small local chapel." (Koszarski)
　　From the present state of research we can assume that all the known American copies of the film derive from this shortened re-release version, a copy of which Universal donated to the Museum of Modern Art in 1941. According to Koszarski the original negative of the film was destroyed sometime between 1956 and 1961 and has therefore been irretrievably lost. This information casts an interesting light on the Austrian version, which can be dated to the period between the summer of 1921 and the winter of 1922. Furthermore, the copy is some 200 metres longer than the US version of 1924. If one follows the details given by Richard Koszarski and Arthur Lennig, this means that, as far as both its date and its length are concerned, the Austrian version lies almost exactly in the middle between the (lost) version shown at the premiere and the re-released one.A large part of the additional length of the film can be traced to cuts that were made to the 1924 version in almost every shot. Koszarski describes how the beginning and the end of scenes were trimmed, in order to "speed up" the film. However, more exciting was the discovery that the Austrian version contains shots that are missing in the American one - shots/countershots, intertitles - and furthermore shows differences in its montage (i.e. the placing of the individual shots within a sequence). All this indicates that Die Rache der Berge constitutes the oldest and most completely preserved material of the film.
