A Girl at My Door

　　一名前冠军拳击手在去寻找失踪妹妹之时打响了她的生存之战。

　　Gabrielle is writing an illustrated guide book on sex called &♯39;How To Do It.&♯39; At a book signing she meets Saul, an established male writer who is straight. She both loves and hates his work which has seeped into her secular Jewish life from childhood. The more Gabrielle tells him about her book the more he wants to know about her life; the relationship with her younger girlfriend Olivia and her determination to "stop using my penis in sex". As her book takes form, is Saul jealous or desirous? Their friendship is tested as is Gabrielle&♯39;s relationship with Olivia. The film muses on how we write, how we draw. And the nature of "story" and what it makes us do.

　　·最初本片中并没有Jason Miller加盟，实际上，卡拉斯神父的死尸是由布拉德·道里夫扮演，当时的场景是乔治C·斯科特正在手术台上检查神父的尸体。在试映之后，制片人决定影片中应该出现1973年《驱魔人》中的演员，于是威廉·彼得·布拉蒂重写了剧本，Jason Miller扮演了卡拉斯神父。

　　This film takes place in Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia. Matic lives in a large neighbourhood of concrete blocks of flats with his mother. As his father is temporarily working in Libya, they live alone. Matic&♯39;s otherwise monotonous life changes dramatically when he is chosen to feature in a film. At the shooting he meets Milena, a girl his own age whom he begins to like. When the shooting is over, the film company gives him a present, a huge black Newfoundlander. Although his mother is not really pleased about it, Matic brings the dog home. And that is just the beginning of their adventures... - IMDb

　　Desdemona lives on an isolated island with her strange family: her father Mario, her stepmother Dulcinea and her mentally challenged sister Paulova. As the only inhabitants on the island loneliness and desolation engulf all members of her family. Desdemona tries to ward off her boredom by taking long walks along the beach or engaging in acts of self-gratification. She often tries to seduce her own father Mario to engage in acts of a sexual nature. Their daily routine is interrupted by the arrival (by boat) of a robust male stranger who brings friction into Desdemona&♯39;s family.

　　Since 1977, Sam Klemke has been recording himself on film, the ♯selfieavantlalettre. In that same year, NASA launched the Voyager with the Golden Record. Whereas NASA primarily sketches a positive picture of humanity, Klemke&♯39;s honest self portraits zoom in on the individual. A special film about time, memory and what it means to be human.
　　‘This year will be my year, it has to be!’ Since 1977, Sam Klemke - a pioneer status updater - has looked back on ‘his year’ using video. With the illusion of progress, he hopes to encourage ‘personal growth and improvement’.
　　Documentary maker Matthew Bate met Klemke on Facebook and became acquainted with his video 35 Years Back Through Time, a super-cut in which Klemke counts backwards from 2011 to his ambitious teenage self. Intrigued by this obsessive film project, Bate used Klemke&♯39;s personal archive to create a documentary collage that feels like an intimate road trip, with Klemke providing valuable lessons about time. Along the way, he dismantles the dream of success and happiness. Klemke&♯39;s self-mockery and honesty give the whole thing a light, breezy feel.
　　Through this, Bate interweaves NASA’s Golden Record Project which, just like Klemke’s video project, was launched in 1977. This juxtaposition creates a reflection in which Bate sketches the comprehension of time and self-documenting stories as an inherent human need.
